JOHANNESBURG – Tributes continue to pour in for South Africa’s favourite maths teacher, William Smith.
Smith died in Perth, Australia, from advanced cancer.
He reached many young people in the 90s through his televised Maths and Science lessons.
Smith was voted one of the top three presenters on South African television in 1998.
He also appeared with the late Jeremy Mansfield in the popular TV quiz show, A Word or 2.
Smith was a renowned conservationist and owned the Featherbed Nature Reserve in Knysna.
His family says he faced his final moments with grace, expressing contentment with his accomplishments.
